removing darts after throw

Post by madforituk25 on Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:34 pm

my grandad asked me the other day(he was a pretty nifty player in his day).......which hand do you remove the darts from the board with???............i throw right handed and he suggest that its best to take the darts out with the opposite arm to which you throw with.........reason being if you playing a long session why shud u put more strain on your throwing arm than u need to by removing darts aswell as throwing.... does any do this or have they also heard of this????????????

I throw with me right and retrieve with my left - I think everyone does the same, it must just be natural.

I throw right handed but always take the darts out with left hand. Occasionally both hands if they're in various parts of the board.
My grandpa's pearl of wisdom was not to take all three darts out in one pull, but that was because in his day he used the big clunky Jim Pike darts.
That said, he has a point, as my points have grooves on them, so they can get stuck if near a wire and I don't pull them out cleanly...
